WOW! WOW! WOW! Talk about a wow factor! As luck would have it, I was invited to play in the first annual TILGO (Travel Industry Ladies Golf Outing) at the GRAND DEL MAR . So....from sunny Florida I was on an airplane again and heading toward the other coast...and San Diego.
After two Delta flights yesterday (hey...the flight attendants were really friendly and nice....what is happening here?).....I have landed in perhaps one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever seen.
Designed after a Renaissance-inspried Mediterranean villa, The Grand Del Mar is a work of art from the moment you arrive.
There is no Front Desk and on arrival you are greeted by name and then taken to your suite where you can relax with a glass of wine as you sign on the dotted line.
Left alone and with a few minutes before a welcome cocktail party and dinner....I wandered around my suite like a princess in her castle! Where to go first? What to do tomorrow...? Do I want to go to the Spa? Do I want to go hiking in Los Pensaquitos Canyon Preserve...? Or do I want to take golf lessons and then play on the wonderful Tom Fazio designed course?.....so many options.....so much to do.....but right now.. I have to go to a party!....so this Cinderella is putting on her ball gown to join the rest of the ladies for a wonderful evening of chatter and wine.
