LOST IN CYBERSPACE-FAMILY MATTERS!

Wow....I know I promised to write on a regular basis and keep my friends and fans updated on my travels....but lately all I seem to be doing is scheduling and cancelling and then scheduling and cancelling again....not because I want to...but because of family matters. When you have elderly parents and they decide to move in down the street from you.....a lot of time is spent coddling and helping them with the move. Thus....my recent travels have all been between Atlanta and Florida.

I was scheduled to go and visit friends with a marvelous beach house outside of Lima, Peru. They even planned a huge party while I was supposed to be there. But as the date grew closer for my flight to take off.....there was my Mom on the phone cajoling me and begging me not to go. I told her that the difference between a flight to Atlanta and a flight to Lima, Peru, was in reality about the same distance.
However in her logic...Lima was a long, long way away from Atlanta....and thus the trip was cancelled. I was very dismayed as my friends house looked lovely and I was also planning on visiting some of the new hotels in the Paracas area south of Peru's capitol.

Paracas and Ica is close to the Nazca plains so widely known as the landing place of space people from Erich Von Daniken's epic ideas. The drawings made from stones and other materials in this area of Peru are truly amazing and where so many wonderful creatures and shapes are visible from the small plane that I had hired to take me up and over them for a spectacular view. You can also see them from ground look-out points. The designs run along the ground in the desert over a surface area of more than five hundred square kilometres.

I regret not only missing the party and seeing my friends...but also seeing this area of Peru which I have not seen in years. Now there are modern hotels and resorts built around an ancient watering hole used by the ancient Incas and pre-Inca peoples in that area. It is also the area from which the famed Pisco of Peru (aka- Pisco Sours) come from.

So...as I sit in Florida wondering when and where I will go next...I am sad to say that I will miss seeing my friends. Wow...I hate to have missed this trip. Maybe next time.

Now as I drive back to Atlanta for the last time...instead of getting lost in cyberspace for a month....I soon will begin to be able to travel again and tell everyone how I love what I do!
