WOW! Again with superlatives....! The Grand del Mar Golf links was spectacular today. Aside from a gorgeous and somewhat challenging course...the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good time. One of the few courses in the USA with professional caddies....each foursome tees off with a expert that knows the course up and down. Just my luck that my caddie, Cole, looked just like Brad Pitt! I have a hard enough time playing golf, let alone a round with a Brad Pitt look alike riding on the back of my cart.
Weather here is spectacular....sunny with a gentle but cold breeze...a hard thing for a Floridian like me to get used to. I had to bundle up...even in the sun and of course all the Californian thought I was nuts to put on a wind shirt with the sun out at 70 degrees.
This reminds me of the wonderful dinner that we had last night. Not only does the Grand have a spectacular resort....it has some exquisite villas for "fractional ownership". These 5 bedroom chalets come complete with fire pit, butler kitchen, game room, work out room, hot tub, and fireplaces everywhere....even in "His Bath" and "Her Bath". Just small little places of around 5,000 sq ft. each one. I was told that there are some famous "Hollywood types" that have already opted in....but do not know who as this fact is "never disclosed".
In any case...the entire wall of the living room, dining room opens onto the garden with the fire pit which provided welcome warmth for the cool night in San Diego.
After many glasses of wonderful California wines....it was back to my palace room for a good nights rest....and to dream about my super day at golf with that handsome caddie Cole!
